Heating to Reduce Cellulite Appearance

Regardless of age, weight, and gender, cellulite is a condition that can affect anyone, especially women. More than 90% of women all around the world suffer from cellulite.

And more than half of those women do mind having it, so they constantly try to find different treatments, methods, and options to get rid of it.

Cellulite is a condition that all of us suffer from, but rarely who knows what cellulite really is. Cellulite is not only regular fat like any other.

It is somewhat more complex than that. The cells underneath your skin are full of fat so they start increasing in size.

Apart from an excess of fats, there are also toxins and water retention which are other reasons for cellulite.

When some of these things happen, the cells start to create pressure inside the connective tissue and it becomes weak or damaged. When the connective collagen tissue is damaged, it can’t hold the cells right, so they start bulging outwards.

This is how those bumps are created on your skin and we call them cellulite. Imagine this whole thing like a pocket in which you have put some small balls.

You can see that the pocket surface is going to be bumpy. This is basically what happens with the fat cells and the skin.

Now that we know what cellulite actually is, we would want to focus on the different ways to reduce it.

Since the word “cellulite” first appeared in the 60s, women have been trying to find an appropriate and effective way to lose it, or at least reduce cellulite. I bet you’ve so far heard of millions of different treatments that promise to lose cellulite.

But on the other side, there are also many people who disagree with the efficiency of these treatments. There are massages, scrubs, creams, surgeries, etc.

All these are a little unbelievable for many people. And this is probably true. So, are there some other options other than these that can help us get rid of cellulite?

Is there an efficient and permanent way that we can lose cellulite without trying too hard? Actually, there is. And this is a pretty efficient and simple solution – HEAT!

How can a Heat Treatment Reduce Cellulite?

You have probably heard before that muscles burn away fats or calories. The reason why is this so is that when you exercise your muscles are warm and heated and they melt and burn the fats.

Well, the heat does its trick here. In this same way, heating works towards reducing cellulite.

By supplying your skin, thus cells with heat you help the process of burning fat and this means cellulite reduction is on its way. When we say heat, we do not mean just one heat treatment.

There are several different treatments that use heat as a way to reduce and handle with cellulite. Although they all work differently and use different methods, there is still some form of heat involved in all of them.

Types of Heat Treatments

We said that there are several different treatments that use some kind of heat as a help to reduce cellulite.

Some of them are done professionally while others can be done at home. Some of them are cheaper, others are more expensive. And of course, some of them are more, some less efficient.

What treatment you choose depends on your budget, time and amount of effort you are willing to give. Here are some of the most often used treatments that involve the use of heat:

– Applying heat pads: The results and the effect of this method are not scientifically proved, but many people claim to have seen results, at least temporary.

This is good if you wish to use it for a few days before some big event. Just apply a heating pad on the cellulite affected place for at least one hour every day. You can use it several times a day just be careful not to burn your skin.

– Radiofrequency: This is another method that results with applying heat. This treatment implies the use of radio waves that are sent to the skin layers.

These radio waves are heating the dermal and sub-dermal skin layers. The heat that is applied changes the connective tissue and cells structure, but it doesn’t damage the outer skin layer.

– Infrared Energy: This is an option for treatment similar to the previous one. The difference is that instead of radio waves, infrared energy or heat is applied.

This infrared energy heats the layers of skin and tissues and works on several different improvements.

First, the heat improves the condition of the collagen connective tissues. Another advantage is that the heat increases the blood circulation and flow in the treated area.

And last, it improves the outer condition of your skin and makes it look really smoother and softer, without damaging it at all.

These are one of the most often used treatments with heat. Most of the times, more than one treatment are used in a combination with others in order to maximize the results.

For example, there are medical and cosmetic devices that work with radio waves, infrared energy, plus a vacuum and a form of mechanical stimulation such as rollers for deep tissue massage.

These devices are one of the most successfully rated from people. This kind of treatment that implies using heat can cost a little more money, so you have to be careful with your budgets. Usually, more than one treatment is necessary in order to see the best results.

When the result is there, you will have to maintain these results with doing at least one treatment a month. Otherwise, the condition of cellulite might go back to the way it was before.

No matter what kind of treatment you choose, almost all of the treatments that work with heat are successful, so it’s up to you to choose what’s best for you.

  1. This is such great information. My husband has been using a home infrared treatment device for some elbow pain. He’s just started with it and not sure whether it works yet. I wonder if I am able to use the same thing for cellulite reduction. I’m going to check it out tonight. I’m just curious, out of the heat treatments you mentioned in this post, which one do you think is the most effective? Also, would you recommend using multiple treatments or just trying one at a time? Thanks for your help!
