how to lose cellulite

How Can I Get Rid of Cellulite besides Losing Weight?

Most websites and books will tell you that losing weight is one sure way to get rid of your cellulite. However, this is not strictly true, and it is not an option for many people.

Sometimes losing weight would not benefit your overall health – and, of course, this has to come first – or it could even be dangerous.

For some people, losing weight would mean losing a figure or a look that they have worked hard for, and other people may struggle financially if they have to join a gym or start spending extra money on low-fat foods.

Luckily, there are other ways to get rid of cellulite besides losing weight. Changing your diet – not necessarily to lose weight, but just to start eating slightly different foodstuffs – is a great way to help reduce the appearance of cellulite and even to stop it from forming in the first place.

How much should you be eating from day to day?

You do not have to reduce the number of calories you are consuming daily, but you may have to change exactly what you are eating.

For instance, if your guilty pleasure is eating a couple of squares of milk chocolate each night before going to bed, you may need to change this from milk chocolate to dark chocolate.

This is because, whereas milk chocolate is almost empty calories and has little to no nutritional value, particularly when it comes to helping get rid of cellulite, dark chocolate has proven to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. After all, it contains fast-acting antioxidants that are well known to help fortify the skin.

Do not think of your new diet as ‘going on a diet.’ Think of it more as exchanging a few foodstuffs you know and love for other delicious superfoods that will burn away your cellulite.

What foods are there out there that can help get rid of cellulite?

Many foods are available now – very readily and very often for very reasonable prices – that can help you reduce the appearance of your cellulite. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

drink water to lose cellulite

Water

Water is definitely a wonder drink. Making sure you are adequately hydrated throughout the day can have many positive effects on you physically and mentally.

One of those results is the reduced appearance of cellulite. Water helps your body to flush out excess toxins that often help cellulite to form beneath your skin.

If you drink enough, you can ensure that your cellulite will go and stay gone with the help of other effective superfoods.

Green tea

Just a cup of green tea daily can hugely affect your cellulite, getting rid of it forever.

Green tea naturally contains epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG, which has been proven to prevent the expansion of fat cells.

Sunflower seeds

We are constantly being told how good seeds and nuts are for us. They contain high levels of protein and other great minerals and vitamins that can help our body maintain itself in the proper ways.

Sunflower seeds, in particular, are well known as very effective against the development of cellulite.

This is because the vitamin B6 in sunflower seeds actively repairs connective tissues, the same tissues that break usually break down and cause your skin to look dimpled and lumpy.

If this wasn’t enough, sunflower seeds are also a natural diuretic, which means that they can prevent the bloating that makes cellulite more obvious to the naked eye, meaning that they work in two ways to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Dark chocolate

As mentioned above, dark chocolate is packed full of antioxidants. This help make cells function appropriately in the way they are supposed to, including skin cells.

In addition, dark chocolate tends to have fewer added sugars than milk and white chocolate, making it a generally healthier option for those looking to improve their diet.

Salmon

This particular fish is well known for its high omega-3 fatty acids, which can help strengthen skin tissue.

Having salmon at least once every couple of weeks (ideally once a week) could help your skin repair as the cellulite is flushed and burned away by the combination of other essential ingredients and superfoods listed here.

By adding all these superfoods and more to your diet, you can start ensuring that your cellulite is burned away and stays burned away.

How much of these superfoods do you have to eat?

You should not be adding all these superfoods to the amount you already eat. Instead, try to substitute foods you already eat with those listed above.

Instead of eating a chocolate bar as a snack, bring some healthy sunflower seeds and munch on those, knowing that your cellulite will soon disappear.

Have salmon once a week instead of cod or trout, and instead of drinking fizzy drinks or other unhealthy beverages, try drinking water or different water-based drinks such as squash or tea instead of drinking fizzy drinks or other not-so-healthy beverages. There are plenty of ways to introduce these cellulite-burning foods into your diet.

Do not worry if you can’t fit all these foods into your diet

You shouldn’t be aiming to eat all these foods in a single day! However, you should try to spread these sorts of foods each week so that, on average, you get the same number of essential vitamins and minerals into your body daily.

Do not worry if you go for one or two days without eating any of the above superfoods, but try to make up for it by occasionally eating more for a couple of days a week. This way, you can be sure you are getting everything you need.

I was so happy to read that dark chocolate is a super food!! I love to eat chocolate, it’s one of my guilty pleasures but breaks my skin out, so I try not to eat it often. And while I need to work out, it’s something I tell myself I’m going to start doing all the time, I just can’t seem to find my rhythm. I will work out one of two days, then nothing else for months. 🙁 It’s really good to know that working out isn’t the only way to get rid of cellulite for people like myself, who just can’t seem to get in the workout groove. Maybe I need to hire a personal trainer?

  2. No wonder every time I eat sunflower seeds I’m in and out of the bathroom!!!!! I had no idea they are a natural diuretic. Lol, every time I eat those seeds my husband starts to wonder if I’m pregnant or not–nope, it’s the sunflower seeds. 🙂

I really need to start reading more about the foods l eat, one reason is to avoid eating food that hinders my body from looking as good as it should, and two because I could be missing out on some really awesome benefits from foods that I enjoy eating– so that’s cool that the seeds are filled with B6 I guess I’m off to the grocery store.

Also, lucky for me I love dark chocolate but regardless of it’s cellulite fighting properties the calories it has will have me moderating my snacking on those but thanks for the tip that it’s a better alternative to milk chocolate. Thanks!!! 🙂 Nice read.
